Excellent dispersibility in water
Coenzyme Q10 is a solid oil at room temperature and does not dissolve or disperse in water, while PSQ™ is a water-dispersible powder that has been emulsified and dried using our proprietary formulation and processing technology. A feature of PSQ™ is that it does not readily precipitate when dispersed in water.
Improved absorbability
Coenzyme Q10 crystals have a melting point of approximately 50 ℃ and are thus solid at room or body temperature. Coenzyme Q10 cannot be absorbed by the body in solid form, and it must therefore be dissolved in oil and then dispersed in water. Although it is generally recommended that PSQ™ be taken with a meal, some absorption has been observed even on an empty stomach because PSQ™ is dispersed in water.
Highly versatile flavor
Since no synthetic emulsifiers are used, PSQ™ does not have their distinctive taste or odor, and it is thus almost completely tasteless and odorless. It can therefore be used not only in supplements, but also in a variety of products such as jellies, instant beverages, and baked goods.
Use suitability
Since PSQ™ has a high coenzyme Q10 content, only a small amount needs to be used for blending into products. When coenzyme Q10 is pressed into tablets, the temporary rise in temperature due to pressure can cause it to melt, resulting in the appearance of red spots. While this can be a problem when coenzyme Q10 bulk powder (100% coenzyme Q10) is used,PSQ™ is not crystalline, and red spots do not readily appear during tablet manufacture.
PSQ™ Liquid Form (5%)
PSQ™ Liquid Form is an aqueous solution with a high degree of clarity containing approximately 5% coenzyme Q10. Precipitation and creaming do not occur readily, even when the product is added to highly concentrated aqueous collagen solution.
No emulsifiers derived from soybeans are used, so there is no requirement for allergen labelling. The emulsifier is carefully selected to minimize the distinctive taste and odor of emulsifiers, so that this solution can be blended into food products without affecting their taste. It has excellent acid resistance, salt resistance, and thermal stability, and it is well suited to blending with beverages and other products with high water content.
